About camping La Coccinelle
Camping La Coccinelle is a small-scale quiet family campsite in the middle of France, the Auvergne in the department of Puy-de-Dôme. This beautiful area is not very well known yet, but definitely worth discovering. For hikers and cyclists who love vast nature, there is much to see and experience. The most famous highlight of Auvergne is the Puy-de-Dôme, about 45 minutes from our campsite. It is one of the most iconic volcanoes of the region, at the top you can still recognize the crater shape. A popular destination for paragliders, but also perfect for hikers. If you do not like mountain climbing, these days there is also a tourist train going almost to the top…in the vicinity of our campsite and the Puy-de-Dôme are beautiful hiking trails and bicycle routes through the natural and volcanic environment.
At the campsite you can enjoy nature, peace, space, cool off in the pool or just read a book. The children can have fun in the playground, on the trampoline, with the table soccer, table tennis or kick a ball around on the adjacent soccer field. We also have two Jeu de Boules courts where young and old can challenge each other to a game of pétanque.
In the bar-bistro you can enjoy a delicious drink or ice cream on the terrace next to our small menu during the season. We have a full liquor license so anything goes…but in moderation, on 2 fixed days in the week we have the bar and terrace open until 23:00h. Monday and Tuesday closed and on the other days the bar-bistro is open until 20:00h. For current opening hours please refer to the information board at the reception.
The campsite is within walking distance of the idyllic village of Blot-l’Église, with the Puy-de-Dôme in the background. In the village are: a village store at 400 meters, an artisanal bakery at 500 meters, knife and pen maker, hairdresser, old church and not to forget the artisanal oil press Huilerie de Blot. This is an oil mill that, among other things, makes nut oil (delicious on salads). About 2 km from the campsite is a sheep cheese farm, a riding school and an art gallery.
