I am Nico, the new owner of camping La Coccinelle and I would like to welcome you to my campsite, as of October 1, 2024 I took over the campsite from Fred and Ria. In the coming years I hope to receive old and new guests at this beautiful campsite, there are many plans, some modernizing, some adapting, but the basis is its nice place and I want to keep it. Let me introduce myself
I am the new owner of camping La Coccinelle, Nico. After working in installation technology for almost 30 years, much of it as an independent entrepreneur, I thought it was time for something new. A search of about 6 years, with a small break due to COVID, has brought me to about ten campsites for viewing and I have studied many of them. One too big, the other too expensive or no potential in my opinion, I have come across all the pros and cons over the years. At the beginning of 2023 I decided that it really had to happen, but you cannot force something like that, and of course I had a busy life with my own business, a lot of work and little time to properly prepare for an emigration. During the summer holidays I found Fred and Ria’s campsite through the real estate agent with whom I had regular contact. At first I didn’t have a euphoric feeling about it and I just booked 2 nights to have a look, I was in the area and was on holiday anyway, when I got there it quickly became clear that this beautiful campsite suited me. Beautiful spacious pitches, well maintained, ready to move in and opportunities for improvement and expansion. Fred and Ria van der Ploeg have had the campsite for 13 years and during that period they have turned it into a solid site with the necessary renovations and expansion. They have built a house there and the necessary storage space and garage. The swimming pool also comes from their hand, they have arranged all permits and had good and less good years. After a few viewings in late spring and autumn, we reached an agreement and the sale was quickly completed and the purchase became a fact. Fred and Ria continued to run the 2024 season and closed everything in mid-September, after which the transfer took place on October 1. time for champagne. I hope that I can welcome old and new guests to Camping La Coccinelle in the coming years.
A new owner, new ideas
With me as the new owner, there will of course also be new ideas and insights for the campsite and its guests. In May I discussed all my plans with the architect and he applied for the necessary permits, at first you think… well that will take months and will not be possible this year, after a lot of back and forth emails and Calling all kinds of agencies, it was quite quiet at a certain point. Of course you always hear and read those stories that nothing is allowed and you never get a permit, well here things went well for a change, I never dared to dream, but on October 22 an email arrived with confirmation from the municipality of Blot-l’ Église that the prefecture had approved everything and there is a permit, champagne again…not my thing.
